Attention all Homemakers, Cooks, and Personal Chefs ! ! ! !

When using the crock pot for a meal, always always ALWAYS, remember to check to see if it's plugged in.  Turning it on is not enough.  The crock pot MUST be plugged in order for it to work.  Even if you've used it successfully two times before in your current week, you have to make sure it's connected to a power source.  You just have to.  Unless it's your way of trying to finagle a night of eating out.  But then why go to all the trouble of assembling a meal for the crock pot?  Also, it would be a waste of fresh baked cornbread that you made to go with the white chili that didn't cook in the crock pot.  And you really don't want to waste a good batch of hot-from-the-oven cornbread.  So save yourself the time and potentially wasted effort and just make sure the silly thing is plugged in.  Then, just for good measure, make sure it IS turned to the 'on' position.  After all your checks, re-checks, and double checks, THEN you can walk away knowing that dinner will be ready when the cornbread timer goes off.

This has been a friendly reminder from a fellow crock pot user.
