Neighbors

When we moved into our house, my kids were the only ones on the street.  Now, after a couple new neighbors have moved in, my kids have playmates and potential friends.  It's awesome!

Mae has a friend that lives next door, a girl her age.  And Caleb has three boys across the street near his age/grade as well.  I'll pray that a little girl Isabel's age will move nearby soon.  So far she's content to follow along with Mae and her friend or the boys.

Having neighbor friends for my kids makes me think of my own childhood friends.  I had great neighbor friends and I hope that my kids have the same kind of experience as I did........playing all day and into dusk, making up games and experiencing made-up places, and coming home only after being called in by mom.

The other bonus is, when the doorbell rings I no longer wonder who's trying to sell me something.
