Made Over and Made Happy

Remember when I was lamenting about my living room and its (or my) need for a makeover? (I wrote about it here, here and here) Well, I was finally able to do something out it. I saved up my money from my Craigslist sales and bought a tv cabinet from Ikea (love that store!). Now my living room has been rearranged and feels more functional and comfortable. This makes me happy. Very happy!

Just in case you have forgotten what my living room looked like before here's a review.

Before (when I was sad)

And this is what it looks like now, after the furniture purchase and use of my decorating skills thanks to HGTV! *big grin*

After (in happy land!):

Looking at the pictures now, it doesn't seem to look much better. But you'll have to trust me on this one. Even my husband, who likes to leave things the way they are, commented on how much nicer the 'new' room was. I was thrilled with his praise of my work! Maybe I can get my own show on HGTV?

Looks great! And you should totally have your own show!

Did your cool new armoire (sp?) arrive yet?

yes, my armoire arrived a couple weeks ago. i haven't posted pics of it 'cause the room it's in is still messy and not organized from it's installation. *sigh* one of these days......

I like it! It looks much cozier and more "homey" y'know. ;-)
Thanks for visiting and always commenting. I learned from my dad to play when those opportunities arise. I've been very blessed!

Yeah! That looks great. I'm glad the new set up lets you enjoy both the fire place and the tv while sitting on the couch.

Mary, Mary, Mary.....the fireplace would be nice if we actually used it. Over here fireplaces are more for decoration than for actual heating purposes. We have never used it, nor do we intend to (unless this winter turns out to be the coldest on record for this area) ha! :) Actually, I don't see the need for them at all. They are more of a glorified picture display than anything (that and make arranging ones living room more difficult with their taking up the space!) :) I do suppose I could crank the AC so we could use it. Hmmmmm.....

I like it! It's much cozier moving the couch in.

Love it! Love the flow of the furniture and the way the fireplace looks like the focal point now. We don't want everybody thinking we use our TV more than our fireplace!

Nice! Love that you can face the fireplace -and- the TV!
