My man is home sick today. Ryan has the flu. The kind that makes you hot and chilly with a temp of 103. Poor guy, he's too busy at work to be home sick. But right now I don't think he's thinking of work, I think he's just wishing I'd turn on the a/c or crank up the heater.
I had heard that if you put onion slices in your socks then it draws out the fever. Does anyone know if this is true??? Also, is it starve a cold and feed a fever or is the other way around? I don't remember!!!
He's got his jug of water by the bed and I'm making sure he's taking Tylenol and Ibuprofen. My mother suggested chicken broth too. I think that's what the lunch menu will be for today.
Any other thoughts or suggestions???

Sounds like how I felt yesterday. Not fun at all. The kids were very concerned that I spent most of the day in bed. I was glad Steve was home. He was really helpful. He made the lasagne for Christmas with my family and took the kids. I wish I could have gone. I am glad to be feeling like a new person today. I hope Ryan is better soon.
It's a myth - starving is never a good idea! =) Seriously, when you're fighting a bug you need your strength. If he's losing a lot of fluids, broth is the way to go. Restores fluid and salt levels (both of which are very important). Cold baths/showers are a no-no, too extreme. But tepid (neither cold nor hot) baths can be a great way to bring fever down. Hope it clears up quickly!
I'm sorry he's not feeling good. That's no fun!
Lipton Chicken Noodle soup is what my mom always fixed for us when we were sick. Mmm. Wish I had a package today...
I'd say keep him hydrated. Dehydration does terrible things to a body. If he'll eat, let him eat, but fluids are a must.
Exactly what the others say...do not starve either! Bad myth! LOL. I think Vicks vap-o-rub is one of the best cures for what ails you out there! That and the cheapy Ramen noodle soup!
