I have a dental appointment tomorrow. Ugh. It's just a cleaning appointment, but still, I haven't been to the dentist in little over a year. This will be a first time appointment at this dentist so I will get the 'new client' treatment, which I am sure will include (but not limited to) x-rays, cleaning, flossing, scraping, and the dreaded suck-your-face-off straw suction thingy, as well as a lecture about my brushing and flossing habits blah blah blah.
I'm really looking forward to it. Can you tell?
My prayer and hope is that I've done at least an adequate job with my dental hygiene in the past year that I will be able to leave the office without having to make a follow-up appointment. Oh, and that I won't cry and/or have a panic attack while waiting, sitting, waiting, and enduring.
So, think of me (and pray) tomorrow between 9:30 to11:00 (they tell me it will take that long...stinkin' lousy!). In preparation, I will line my pockets with tissues so I can easily pull one out to dry my tears, as well as practice easy breathing techniques (who knew labor would come in handy later on?!). And I'll do my very bestest to be a big girl and to act like one too.

Deanne, I know just how scary going to the dentist is! I'll pray for you, especially that you won't cry. I've done that too many times in front of dentists this year and it's embarrassing!
I hope you come out of the dentist's office with a clean smile and no need to return until your 6-month check up for another easy cleaning!
p.s. I'm supposed to make an appointment to get my wisdom teeth removed next week. A prayer in my direction wouldn't hurt :)
Mary, by bosom friend (in dental woes)! Oh no not the wisdom teeth! Do you have all four? I only had two (I lacked wisdom). But regardless, that's no fun. Please tell me that you at least will be 'out' for the procedure!!! I've heard of people not being 'put out' for wisdom teeth extraction and it just sounds like cruel and unusual punishment.
Good luck tomorrow. After not visiting our dentist for a couple years, and having a less then enjoyable experience the last time I was there, I changed dentists. My insurance offered a less expensive option in Portland, so I now drive a while to get there, but they don't know me, except for my visits 2+ a year, they don't see me at the grocery store, they don't have kids in my kids school, etc. I perfer to be known as the crazy lady who hardly flosses, but other wise unknown person.
