Need Your Help!

I'm feeling better today, praise the Lord!!! It looks like Ryan will be going on his trip after all, if he can get a last minute flight out. Earlier this week I invited a friend and her kids over Friday night to have pizza and watch a movie. I've pretty much exhausted my kid flick queue........so can anyone suggest a good movie for kids ages 5 to 9??? (for girls and boys) I'm up for golden oldies or something new. Can you help with a suggestion or two????

Glad you're feeling better!

My kids love the Air Bud movies. What about Shaggy Dog, American Tail, or Wallace & Gromit?

I was thinking Mary Poppins too. Hmmmm...I liked the Never Ending Story when I was a kid.

So glad you are feeling better. Just let them watch Lost, then the grownups can enjoy the movie also. Ok,ok maybe not the best idea afer all.

My suggestion is Spirit, an animated movie about the story of a wild mustang taken captive and his journey to be free again. It is one of the favorites at our house....great story and great music.

The kids have also recently enjoyed Homeward Bound and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. Opps, that's 3 suggestions.

As I have thought about it, I don't think that Honey, I Shrunk the Kids is approprate for the ages you suggested. There is some language that we don't let the kids use (shut up, stupid, that kind of thing). I should have stuck with 2 suggestions. Sorry!!!

How about The Goonies? I think it will have a few "bad" words like (sh*t) so I'm not sure if you approve, but the movie is a classic. Homeward Bound is cute for kids who love talking animals. I remember loving The Journey of Natty Gann, but it's been a while and I don't remember if it has any language or inapproriate parts...It is rated PG. Or how about the original Willie Wonka and The Chocolate Factory? Hope you find some good ones and glad to hear your feeling better :)

Glad you're feeling better! I was going to suggest Neverending Story, too, although some it may be just a bit intense for your youngest. We also watched Zoom: Academy for Superheroes with our niece and nephew a couple weeks ago. Cute, although there were some minor name calling (lard butt was definitely an eyebrow raiser for me)

I missed your call for help - sorry! We currently have the animated King and I from netflix. And I think The Indian in the Cupboard will be coming soon.

I would not let your kids watch goonies without you watching it first (I remember loving that movie, but when the kids and I watched it not too long ago I was suprised by the "mature" content)

A favorite replay around here is the Emperor's New Groove.

Hope your movie night was fun!
