I think buying a house is like having a baby.
You dream and look forward to the new addition to your family. You wonder what it will look like and how your life and routine will be changed by it. You assume you'll love it and that there won't be strange or odd things about it. There is the financial burden, to be sure. And let's not forget that once you do get the house, everyone will want to come over and check it out.
Yeah. Buying a house is like having a baby. But without the weight gain.

Yes, but your house won't keep you up all night four nights in a row until you find yourself sitting in the rocking chair next to its crib at 4 a.m. crying and telling your husband that you hate it while simultaneously feeling horribly guilty and convicted that you're a horrible homeowner.
