First Words

Isabel is saying her first words! We noticed this new develope-
ment last week but she may have been using her new words earlier than that. Isabel's first offical word is Da-da. She said it one evening, then later that night she tapped Ryan on the elbow and said it again. So cute! She has been saying Ma-ma too, but I think she has been saying that for a little bit longer than Da-da. When Isabel is hungry or just plain not happy she will come up to me (usually when I'm making dinner) and cling to my legs and cry "ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma!!!". I did not count this as a word, let alone a first word, since it is pretty much just fussing. If my name is said in a fussy, whinny tone then it is pretty much ignored. So, for this reason I am allowing Da-da to be the first word spoken by Isabel. Ryan can have the glory and that is fine with me. We thought maybe her first word would be
sockie since she can't go to sleep without it! Oh well, maybe it will be added to her vocabulary next?

**note her super-cute shoes! Do you know what makes them even more cute???.....I got them on clearance for three bucks! Oh yeah!

Yeah for Isabel! Let Ryan get the first-word glory, dad's need that sometimes! Soon enough, as I'm sure you already know with 2 bigger kids, Isabel will be chatting your ear off.

Those shoes really are super cute!

Shiney red shoes are the most important thing in a little girls wardrobe. Ask Emily, she will tell you.

I remember Sydney following me around the kitchen in our little California house while I was fixing dinner. She would cry, ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma, endlessly.

What a little cutie!

Hello from Alaska! Thanks for your comment on my blog! =)

I just bought my little girl (she's 7) shiny, wizard-of-oz-dorothy shoes for halloween that she LOVES! On my GIANT size 11 feet, shiny red shoes would just be wrong! Little girls should enjoy them for as long as they can!!

You're little girl is so cute! Our youngest has been saying Ma-Ma-Ma for a couple of months, and lately says la-la-lo (which my husband believes it to mean 'love-you'). But she has yet to say da-da. When will Isabel turn 1? Cristine will be one on Dec. 2.

Love the red shoes! So cute
