Water

It is essential for good summer fun. For instance, it's great when coupled with a fountain.

It also comes in handy for swimming or blowing bubbles.

The beach is an excellent source of water as well (shovel and pail optional).

The backyard variety is fun too.

So grab a friend and jump on in!

But don't forget a towel!

Water fixes all that ails a child sometimes...perfect!

(And I sooo love those towels!)

Janie has recently re-discovered her love of swimming.

And I have recently re-discovered my love of how well she sleeps after a day at the pool. :)

What great summer pictures! My hat's off to you for making that trip with the kids on your own. I really am not sure I could do it--and I've only got two kids! -Julia

P.S. That quote in your blog header by Anais Nin is one of my favorites.

It looks like you found the Ripon water park, unless there is an identical one in S.D. Our kids love that park!!!

Carrie, yes it's the water park in Ripon (the one we went to last week with Sharon and Michael) - it's a great place!
